Equipment

  • Pastry brush
  • Parchment paper

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry 9” x 13” (23cm x 33cm), thawed
  • 2 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 70 g walnuts chopped
  • 3-4 ripe pears sliced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 2 tablespoon honey

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Unroll the puff pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and prick it with a fork, leaving a 1” (2cm) border untouched.
  • Sprinkle half of the sugar on top of the dough, trying to avoid the untouched borders.
  • Next, spread half of the chopped walnuts on top of the dough, also avoiding the borders.
  • Arrange sliced pears on top of the sugar and nuts. Sprinkle the rest of the sugar on top of the pear slices and use the remaining walnuts to fill the gaps between them.
  • Beat the egg with milk in a small bowl. Brush the border of the tart with the egg wash.
  • Bake for approximately 25 minutes or until the edges turn a golden brown color.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool down until just warm. Drizzle the tart with honey, then slice and serve.
